AQBECO Precision Tint is a window-film studio in Houston. The work is automotive glass: ceramic, carbon, and standard film, plus removal and replacement.
Front side windows are planned so the combined reading can stay at or above the Texas 25% VLT minimum. Darker shades stay on rear glass, where the law allows them. The Texas tint laws page cites the statute. The percentage guide shows what those numbers look like.
Ceramic rejects more heat. Carbon holds color in the middle of the price range. Standard dye is the lower-cost shade. The film comparison puts them side by side.
Ceramic
Ceramic car tint uses ceramic particles to cut heat while the view out stays relatively clear. It is the film to ask about when the car lives in a Houston parking lot.
Visible light transmission is the share of light that gets through. A lower number is darker. This control is a diagram, not a meter.
Front-window conversation A light film. The cabin stays easy to see into. On clear factory glass this is usually well above the Texas front-window minimum. This diagram is a visual demonstration, not a promise that the glass will match a meter.
Front-window conversation Still obviously tinted, with a milder shade. Often used when the driver wants some glare relief and a legal front-window reading with room to spare. This diagram is a visual demonstration, not a promise that the glass will match a meter.
Front-window conversation The shade many Houston drivers ask about for front doors. The box number is not the inspection number. Factory glass can pull the meter below 35, and it still has to read 25% VLT or higher. This diagram is a visual demonstration, not a promise that the glass will match a meter.
Texas front minimum 25% is the legal minimum reading on Texas front side windows and on a windshield visor strip, measured with the original glass. It is a floor, not a target to undershoot. This diagram is a visual demonstration, not a promise that the glass will match a meter.
Rear glass territory Too dark for front side windows on a typical Texas passenger vehicle. Rear side glass is exempt, and the rear window can be dark when both outside mirrors show at least 200 feet behind the vehicle. This diagram is a visual demonstration, not a promise that the glass will match a meter.
Rear glass territory A privacy shade for rear glass. 15% is not installed on the front side windows of a Texas road vehicle. This diagram is a visual demonstration, not a promise that the glass will match a meter.
Rear glass territory Often called limo shade. It belongs on rear glass only when that glass is legally open to any darkness. It is not a front-door option here. This diagram is a visual demonstration, not a promise that the glass will match a meter.

A quote covers the film and the glass count. It is not a confirmed appointment until we say so.
03
Film the glass
The film is cut, wet, and squeegeed. Front doors stay within the Texas reading.
04
Let it cure
Windows stay up, and the wash waits, for the time given with that install.

07FAQ
Short answers.
Often a few hours once the car is in the bay. Old film, a rear defroster, or a large SUV changes that. The quote includes a time estimate for that vehicle.
No. Texas front side windows need 25% VLT or higher with the factory glass. Five percent is a rear-glass shade.
